Ranchi, Aug.29: Four days after the Election Commission sent its opinion on the office-of-profit issue to the Jharkhand Governor, Chief Minister Hemant Soren along with several ministers resumed their official job, but the works in the secretariat remained affected.

This came to the fore after a section of government officials shared their problem saying ‘aise samay mein anap shanap noting ka khatra rahta hai, isliye officer log file aage badhane se darte hain.’

Another official supported the fact, saying the appointment of “work of posting of AYUSH doctors is pending due to political turmoil.”

During a short visit to the Nepal House secretariat in the afternoon it came to fore that there is an atmosphere of confusion everywhere and most of the officials are busy in political discussion instead of paying attention to their work.

“The Jharkhand secretariat is already slow. For the last three days of uncertainty it has become slower. Work has been severely affected as departmental ministers remained busy enjoying picnics and chalking out strategies to save the government at the chief minister’s residence,” a clerk requesting anonymity said.

An official at the Project Bhawan secretariat said after a long time today Chief Minister Hemant Soren and some of his cabinet colleagues, including Alamgir Alam, Rameshwar Oraon, Hafizul Ansari and Jagarnath Mahto turned up at the secretariat.

“Only God knows what Alam, Oraon and Ansari dealt with. There is information about education minister Mahto dealing with the files related to items being provided to schoolchildren. In the meeting, along with Education Secretary Rajesh Sharma, MLAs Niral Purti, Deepak Birua, Sudivya Kumar Sonu were present. It was decided in the meeting that the state government would increase the amount of clothes, shoes, stockings being given to the children of government schools,” the official said.

Contacted development commissioner and principal secretary of health education and family welfare department Arun Kumar Singh, he did not support the observation saying “work is going on as usual. All the files are being disposed of with process. Process of posting of AYUSH doctors is also on.”

Health minister Banna Gupta echoed the same saying he had gone to his office and disposed of many official works. He, however, did not share any specific information regarding the work.

Chief minister Soren was of the same view. Interacting with a section of media at the Project Bhawan secretariat he said that the work of the government has neither stopped nor will it stop. He said that the government will continue to do its work in the interest of the people.

He, on the occasion, also expressed his concern over the death of Dumka girl Ankita Singh and said proper legal action will be taken in the matter. Rajmahal MP Vijay Hansda noticed accompanying the chief minister to Project Bhawan.
