Ranchi, Aug.31: Suspended BJP leader and better half of a retired IAS officer, Seema Patra, was sent to Birsa Munda Central till September 12 in judicial custody.
The development took place when the lady, who was arrested this morning following an FIR against her for perpetuating atrocities against a poor tribal girl, was produced before a city court for further legal action after proper medical examination at Sadar Hospital.
“Mujhe Fasaya Gaya Hai (I have been framed),” said Patra when she was being taken to court lock up after the judicial order. Her face was covered with black scarf when she was being escorted by a section of women constables on the way to the lock up from the court.
As legal action was being taken against Patra a team of National Commission for Women met the victim Sunita Khakha, who is undergoing treatment at RIMS. The two-member commission team including Shivani Dey and Shalini Kumari questioned the victim to submit its report in the matter.
The situation arose after an FIR was registered against Patra, a resident of Ashok Nagar, under different IPC sections including 323, 325, 346 and 374 besides section 3 of Prevention of ST /ST Atrocity Act at Argora police station. The BJP suspended her after the FIR was registered.
