Daltonganj, Sept 2: The Murumatu incident where around 12 dalit families with a total of 42 members were allegedly thrown out by the minority community from a piece of land said to be belonging to the minority community a couple of days ago, has now become a hot political cake.

There was a high-level team of the BJP leaders visiting the dalits on Friday under the Pandu police station area led by two Rajya Sabha members including state president Deepak Prakash and Aditya Sahu among others.

JMM leaders with the victims

Soon on the heels of the BJP team was the team of JMM led by its district president Rajinder Sinha.

The JMM team met both the communities the victim dalits and the alleged aggressors of the minority community.

Both the political parties have their own way of looking at this incident.

Aditya Sahu termed this incident as the high handedness of the minority community saying its bullying would not be tolerated.

Rajinder Sinha, on the other hand, termed the incident as one born out of the land matter.

Sahu further raised accusing fingers at the administration for doing perfunctory action by arresting a few minority community members and demanded collective punishment for the whole village of Murumatu for the wrongs against the dalits.

Meanwhile, Sinha assured the dalits of governmental fiscal aid of Rs 25, 000 for each of the eligibles here.

Sahu flayed the Hemant Soren government for promoting politics of appeasement while JMM’s Sinha accused the BJP of fomenting communal overtones in every incident.

Sahu said the minority community members have defiled the place of faith of the dalits, while JMM’s Sinha said the BJP always sniffs communalism in every incident.

Murumatu has turned now a political playground where political parties are pulling at its maximum strength to gain politically, said Arun Kr Singh, a civil society activist.

Notably, Arun Haldhar, the vice chairman of the National Scheduled Caste Commission,  Government of India  is also to visit the victims on Saturday as per a press note by the district administration.
