Jamshedpur, Sept 8: India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a forecast of rain at a few places over Jharkhand today.
The monsoon at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna Ajmer, Ambikapur and Jharsuguda.
Weathermen said a cyclonic circulation has formed over East Central Bay of Bengal. Under its influence low-pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal after the next 24 hours.
According to weathermen, the rainfall activity would gain momentum this weekend due to the impact of the low pressure over the Bay of Bengal.
The forecast for Ranchi suggested a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of thundershowers or duststorms today.
As per as monsoon rain is concerned Jharkhand was still facing a deficit of 26%.
Rain data suggested that against the normal of 859.5mm the state has so far received 635.7 mm.
The day temperature today in most places across the state would be two to three notches above normal.
The discomfort index in most parts of the state was recorded above normal today. This comfort index is worked out on the basis of wind, temperature, humidity and other Met conditions.
