Hazaribagh: Three die, 30 sustain injuries as bus carrying pilgrims collides with truck

Ramgarh, Sept 12: A bus full of pilgrims met with an accident near Patitiri More of Gorhar police station area of ??Hazaribagh district on Monday in which three people died while 30 sustained major injuries.

The tourist bus named Lokenath coming from Bengal rammed into the rear end of a truck from behind.

In the accident, driver Abdul Mulla (50) and helper Noor Jamal (45) died on the spot whereas a passenger named Gurupadon Mandal (55), a resident of village Vrindavan Bhupati Nagar East Medinipur died during treatment at Barkatha Hospital.

Gorhar Police has sent the bodies of the three dead persons to Sadar Hospital Hazaribagh for postmortem.

Out of 30 injured, 8 were referred to Sadar Hospital Hazaribagh for better treatment.

The passengers said that they were going from Medinipur in West Bengal to Gaya in Bihar to perform Pind Daan.  Due to a pothole in the road near Gorhar bridge, the bus which was at a high speed hit the truck from behind.
