Ranchi, Sept 14: The CBI’s preliminary enquiry report on properties of JMM chief Shibu Soren has triggered fresh brickbats between the JMM and the BJP. A day after BJP legislature party leader Babulal Marandi quoting the CBI report claimed Shibu Soren having 108 properties and mostly disproportionate assets, the JMM hit back.
Addressing a press conference, general secretary and spokesperson of the JMM Supriyo Bhattacharya accused Babulal Marandi of maligning the image of Shibu Soren.
“Babulal Marandi claims that Shibu Soren has 108 properties out of which only 33 properties are declared. Now where are the rest 75 properties? When will he be going to give the rest 75 properties to Shibu Soren? If he fails to do so, we will discover properties of Babulal Marandi,” he said.
The JMM demanded Babulal Marandi to disclose the source of the information and further termed him a Dhritarashtra guided by Sanjay (BJP MP Nishikant Dubey). “Babulal Marandi only reads the texts provided by Sanjay. His credibility is under question,” he said.
He reminded Babulal Marandi about one such press conference where he had accused the BJP of poaching his party (JVM) MLAs. “Babulal Marandi had named several BJP leaders who made cash payments to his party MLAs so that they break the JVM and join the BJP. Will Babulal Marandi speak now on this issue?” the JMM asked.
Bhattacharya said that Marandi is the person who once used to say that rather than joining the BJP he would prefer to jump from the Qutub Minar. “Can Babulal Marandi tell people how much money he took from the BJP to get himself sold?” he said.
The JMM said that the BJP leaders became desperate after the Delhi High court stayed the proceedings of the Lokpal against Shibu Soren.
