Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court has dismissed the petition of architect Vinod Kumar Singh in the Badgai land scam case, which involves 8.86 acres of land. He had challenged the PMLA court’s rejection of his discharge petition.

Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad’s Bench Rules Against Singh

Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad’s bench dismissed the plea. Senior advocate Amit Kumar Das and advocate Saurav Kumar appeared for the ED. The special PMLA court had earlier rejected Singh’s discharge petition, and charges had been framed against him.

Background of the Case

Over the alleged fraud involving the land, the ED raided the premises of JMM leader Antu Tirkey, architect Vinod Kumar Singh and several land dealers. After completing its investigation, the agency filed a chargesheet in the PMLA court. The ED’s special court has already framed charges against 17 accused, including Antu Tirkey and Vinod Kumar Singh.
