New Delhi, Sept 28: Mohammed Shami, an Indian bowler, tested negative for COVID-19 on Wednesday, more than ten days after contracting the virus.
After the BCCI replaced him for the three-match T20I series against South Africa, which starts on Wednesday in Thiruvananthapuram, the 32-year-old revealed his report on his Instagram account.
On September 17, a viral test for the veteran Indian bowler revealed a positive result. As a result, he was unable to participate in the recently finished three-match series against Australia.
The bowler had been disqualified from the T20 match against South Africa earlier in the day because, according to the BCCI, he “failed to attain full recovery from COVID-19.”
Notably, Shami has not played any cricket after England series in July and had been brought back into the T20 mix when he was picked for the games against Australia and South Africa.
