Ranchi, Oct 14: Jharkhand police in Gumla recovered a partially burnt male body from Adar Nimiya slope, a place about 70km from the district headquarters in Parsagada village under Ghaghra police station of Gumla district.

“The recovery took place after villagers noticed the body and informed the police. The body has not been identified so far,” a local resident said.

Gumla Superintendent of Police (SP) Ehtesham Waquarib did not take calls for his comment on the matter despite repeated attempts.

A police official confirming the incident said that an FIR has been registered in this connection and a probe has started.

“Primary investigation suggests that the man was killed somewhere else and then brought to the Ghagra area to set on fire with an intention to create a hurdle in identification,” the official said.
