New Delhi, Ocy 18: A Delhi court on Tuesday refused to cancel bail of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) scam. The court reprimanded Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav over his statements about the CBI and its officers.
“If you speak in public, then choose the right words,” the judge told Yadav after the CBI said he had issued threats to its officers.
Additionally, the CBI informed the court that one of its investigators experienced a life-threatening attempt in Uttar Pradesh, adding that “We have no evidence to draw a link to this case. But after that threat, there is an atmosphere of fear and anxiety.”
The CBI used this and other sections of the statement as evidence in a Delhi district court to claim a threat and use that as justification for locking him up while the investigation is ongoing. The CBI’s arguments, according to Yadav, were “simply a narrative-building exercise” by the governing BJP against opponents.
“Should such statements be made while being the Deputy Chief Minister,” the judge later asked Tejashwi Yadav and warned him against making any such statement from now on.

The central agency was requesting Tejashwi Yadav’s bail be revoked in connection with an alleged scam involving the contracting out of two hotels owned by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to a private company when Tejashwi Yadav’s father Lalu Prasad Yadav served as railway minister in the Congress-led UPA government about ten years ago.
