Dhanbad, Oct 20: The first round of admission in the state quota of MBBS seats in the medical colleges of Jharkhand will take place from October 29 to November 4.
A senior officer of the state health department medical education wing said that as per the National Medical Commission (NMC) circular, the first round of admission on central quota MBBS seats in medical colleges will start on October 22 and conclude on October 28.
The online counselling (for choice filling) for the first round of state medical colleges has already started from October 17 and will continue till October 28. For central quota seats, the counselling which started on October 11 would conclude today (October 20).
The second round of counselling for central quota seats will commence from November 2 to November 10 and the last date of admission has been fixed for them till November 18. Similarly, 2nd counselling for state quota seats would begin on November 7 and continue till November 18. The last date for joining the selected medical college is November 21.
Besides this, the mop-up round for the central quota qualifier would be conducted from November 23 to December 1 while the state quota mop-up round would start from December 6 to December 12. The last date of joining has been fixed as December 10 and December 16 for central and state quotas respectively.
The official said Stray Vacancy would be filled up from December 12 to December 14.
A total of four rounds of counselling would be conducted and December 20 has been fixed as the last date of admission. As per the National Medical Commission classes of the 2022 MBBS batch would start on November 15 across the country.
The principals of five medical colleges of state today said that they have already set up a committee for taking the admission of the 1st MBBS batch. The principal said that despite holidays during the admission period institution would be opened in the interest of qualified candidates to take admission.
Jharkhand has a total of 622 MBBS seats in six medical colleges including
- RIMS Ranchi (172 seats)
- MGMMCH Jamshedpur (100 seats)
- Medinirai Medical College Palamu (100 seats)
- Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hazaribag (100 seats)
- Phulo Jhano Medical College Dumka (100 seats)
- Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital, Dhanbad (50 seats)
