Daltonganj, Oct 22: Member of the standing committee of coal, mines and steel of 17th Lok Sabha Deepak Prakash who is a Rajya Sabha member as well as Jharkhand state president of the BJP, has assured to explore avenues to restart the closed Rajhara colliery in Palamu.
The MP said, “It is in the interest of everyone no matter what political affiliations are, that this Rajhara colliery starts production again which will be a facelift to the entire district.”
This BJP state president known for making candid comments said “It is to be seen as to why this colliery is not getting revived. What are the obstacles? Is the problem on the ground or administrative?”
“I can tell at this stage that since I am a member of the standing committee of coal, mines and steel of the Lok Sabha I will pool in my resources to see that this colliery should live up to the expectations of the people again by reverting to the production of coal here,” reiterated Deepak Prakash.
Reminded that BJP MP Palamu V D Ram had made it his poll plank in the 2019 Lok Sabha election about the restart of the decade-old closed Rajhara colliery, gaining instant poll advantages but this colliery remains a non-starter all these years since he got elected for the second term and now the Palamu MP speaks about this colliery when pestered for it to which the BJP state president said, “If someone does 100 works and for some reason one or two of the works remain a non-starter then it should not eclipse all other works completed.” Prakash defended his party MP like anything but said “We will jointly work for the revival of the Rajhara colliery.”
