At around 6.30 pm, the prime minister will attend the ‘aarti’ on the banks of the Saryu River, which will be followed by his launch of the grand Deepotsav celebrations.
He is likely to light up five diyas (earthen lamps) which will symbolise the ‘Panchtatva’ (water, space, fire, wind and earth).
More than 15 lakh diyas will be lit on the occasion. The sixth edition of Deepotsav is being held this year and it is the first time that PM Modi will participate in the celebrations.
Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements have been made across Ayodhya for PM Modi’s visit. The Prime Minister will also attend the event at Ram Katha Park where the symbolic coronation of Lord Ram and Sita will take place. He will, thereafter, light the first earthen lamp at the majestic Ram Ki Paidi ghat.
