Daltonganj, October 23: The four BJP MLAs from the Palamu Lok Sabha constituency failing to attend the release of book titled ‘Palamu Lok Sabha constituency: On road to progress’ authored by Palamu MP V D Ram is a topic of debate here.
Notably, unveiled by the state BJP president Deepak Prakash, the book’s release was attended by one MLA Dr Shashibhushan Mehta of the Panki assembly constituency, however, MLA Mehta is from the Chatra Lok Sabha constituency and not Palamu, which is represented by MP Ram.
The four BJP MLAs who skipped this programme of the MP’s book release include Alok Chourasia (Daltonganj), Ramchander Chandravanshi (Bishrampur), Bhanu Pratap Shahi (Bhavnathpur) and Pushpa Devi (Chhaterpur). As of now, no one has vouched if missing the book release was a plan or abstention on personal grounds.
BJP MLA Chourasia was contacted by lagatar24.com. The MLA said, “I was sick and in Ranchi on the day of the programme. I had duly intimated state president Deepak Prakash about not participating in the programme.”
Palamu district BJP president Vijiayanand Pathak when contacted said, “I knew that BJP MLA Pushpa Devi was sick and could not attend another function in Ranchi as well.”
Political sources have claimed that political disharmony between V D Ram and Bishrampur BJP MLA Ramchander Chandravanshi is well known and many would have been surprised if he had attended the event.
Meanwhile, Palamu district BJP president Pathak further declined to comment on the reson behind BJP MLA Bhavnathpur Bhanu Pratap Shahi didn’t attend the book release. “Garhwa is not my cup of tea which is why I can’t say anything about it.”
On the other hand, MP Ram seems to have scored a point by making his progress report public and thus becomes the first MP here to have his works published for all to see.
Sources have urged that the MP strive to bringing an airspace in Daltonganj as Chiyanki hawai adda remains a space for only choppers of VVIPs.
The MP’s book, meanwhile is no fairy tale and has concrete achievements including plying the Ranchi-Sasaram intercity express trains, sanctioning 852 crore for Garhwa Bypass road, religious tourism by way of Sri Bansidhar Mahotsav, proposal for integrated manufacturing cluster at Bhavnathpur, sanctioning 100 crore worth World Bank aided drinking water facility in Bishrampur and lifting water from Sone and Kanhar for multiple purposes among others.
