Dhanbad, Oct 29: Congress state working president Jaleshwar Mahto has stoked controversy by saying that Brahmins run all automatic cow slaughterhouses in the country.

In the video that has been viral fast on social media, Mahto is seen speaking on a stage during a function that there is the highest number of cow smugglers in India and Brahmins run automatic slaughterhouses in the country.

As per the viral video, Jaleshwar Mahto spoke this while addressing the Gobardhan Puja function held at Matigadha Dam Gwala Dhowra Katras under the Baghmara block on October 26.

While accusing Brahmins, Jaleshwar Mahto was also seen seeking excuse from his Brahmin supporter, who was sitting on the dais, saying that “Excuse me Baba. You are not among them albeit high-level. Brahmins are involved in it and run slaughterhouses in the name of Christian”.

However, when contacted, Jaleshwar Mahto rejected the video and said that he had named Brahmins as reference not accused as slaughterhouse operators. This is the second-time Jaleshwar Mahto has stoked controversy. Earlier he had given a wrong comment against Bhuia and Beldar communities and had to face sharp protests.

Meanwhile, Brahmin Samaj Jharkhand State president Bobby Pandey has criticised Congress state working president and said that either Jaleshwar Mahto name any Brahmin who runs a slaughterhouse or tender an apology at a public platform.

“If Jaleshwar Mahto failed to tender apology, Brahmin Samaj would launch stir and file FIR in the police station,“ said bobby Pandey.

BJP Dhanbad Sadar MLA Raj Sinha has also heavily come down on the Cong leader for his comment against Brahmins.

“On one side leader Rahul Gandhi is leading Bharat Jodo Yatra, whereas on the other side Jharkhand state working president is creating division among society,” said Raj Sinha.

The MLA said the comment of Jaleshwar Mahto is not surprising as it is the culture and character of the Cong Party. Jaleshwar Mahto has joined Congress recently and is working on the agenda of the party.
