New Delhi, Nov 7: The state administration of Delhi announced the reopening of schools on November 9 and relaxed a few additional limitations, such as limits on the admission of trucks and small goods carrier vehicles into the nation’s capital, as the air quality in Delhi improved. The restriction on private development and demolition, according to Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai, will remain in place.
However, it has been requested that schools stop including outdoor activities in their schedules. Additionally, the state government reinstated the work-from-home policy in its offices.
The ‘Paryavaran Bus Service’, which includes 500 privately-run CNG buses, will keep operating, the environment minister said.

On Monday, Delhi’s air quality improved but remained in the extremely poor category. According to SAFAR data, the overall AQI in the national capital was 326. The air quality in Delhi’s satellite cities was also below average, with AQI readings of 332 in Noida (Uttar Pradesh), 325 in Gurugram (Haryana), and 331 in Ghaziabad (UP).
The Centre’s air quality panel lifted the new curbs under the fourth and final stage of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), which were imposed three days ago, as the pollution levels were no longer considered hazardously “severe.”
