Seraikela, Nov 12: Khatian of 1932 and Sarna Dharma Code have been implemented to give a strong identity to the natives and tribals of Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said at Aapki Yojana, Aapki Sarkar program at Birsa Munda Stadium here.

“The government has added a new chapter in the history of the state. The bills have been sent to the central government for inclusion in the Ninth Schedule after getting them passed by the legislative assembly. So that the OBCs here get reservation, the natives-tribals get the identity of 1932 and Sarna Dharma Code,” Soren said.

Social leaders of the state like Mankis and Mundas will be provided residential houses by the state government, he said as he laid the foundation stone of 187 schemes and inaugurated 124 schemes. He also distributed assets among 63,856 beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister inaugurated, laid the foundation stones and distributed assets worth Rs 1,066.81 crore. He inaugurated the new sub-divisional office building, model degree colleges at Kharsawan and Seraikela. He announced construction of a 100-bed hospital in Sahebganj village of Seraikela block.

Soren’s office informed that 1,15,644 applications were received under the Apke Dwar program through 126 camps in Seraikela-Kharsawan, of which 70,921 were executed and 43,453 applications were under process.

The Chief Minister said that the government is giving people their rights by organizing camps in every village and panchayat. Schemes have been made keeping in mind the tradition and culture of the indigenous tribals of the state, he said.

“Jharkhand will progress if all of you take advantage of these schemes. The government wants to strengthen the rural economy. So far, 46 lakh applications have been received under the Sarkar Aapke Dwar programme. What work has been done in 20 years if so many applications are coming? The government is happy that the problems of the people are now being resolved,” he said.

Soren said that the middlemen have been removed from the pension scheme by the government. Now everyone is getting the benefit of Sarvajan Pension Yojana and the government is providing loans for self-employment, he added.

“The government will help the children of the state for higher education. It will cooperate for the preparation of various competitive examinations. Also, if any talented student wants to study abroad, then the government will also help him. A separate camp will be organized to ensure that 75 per cent reservation is given to indigenous tribals in private sector undertakings,” Soren said.
