Punjab: Drone with 3 kg heroin seized near India-Pak border

New Delhi, Dec 4: In the Tarn Taran district of Punjab, close to the India-Pakistan border, a drone and three kilos of heroin were found on Sunday. The Punjab Police and the Border Security Force worked together to make the recovery (BSF).

“Carrying on the special drive against trans-border smuggling networks, Tarn Taran Police and BSF, in a joint operation have recovered a quadcopter drone with 3 kg heroin during a search in an area of PS Valtoha, Tarn Taran,” Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said in a tweet.

This occurs the day after the Border Security Force (BSF) discovered 25 kg or more of heroin that had been dropped in the Fazilka district by a Pakistani drone.

According to police, a drone and more than 5 kg of heroin were discovered in a field close to the Pakistan-India border on the night between Thursday and Friday. Along the India-Pakistan border near Amritsar and Tarn Taran on Monday, the BSF shot down two Pakistani drones carrying about 10 kilogrammes of heroin.

On Wednesday, a broken quadcopter drone was recovered from the area of village Van Tara Singh in Khalra in Tarn Taran.
