“It is an honour to be appointed as the new Batting Coach of the Senior Women’s team. I see tremendous prospects in this team and we have a good mix of youth and experience. I believe this team is ready for the challenge ahead. We have a few marquee events coming up and it is going to be exciting for the team and myself as batting coach,” Hrishikesh Kanitkar said in an official statement released by BCCI.

Former Senior Women’s Team Head Coach Ramesh Powar will work alongside National Cricket Academy Head Coach VVS Laxman.

Star batter Smriti Mandhana will serve as Harmanpreet Kaur’s deputy as she leads the 15-member team. Yastika Bhatia and Richa Ghosh, two wicketkeepers for India, will play in the series. The T20I series versus Australia will take place in Mumbai at the D.Y. Patil Stadium and CCI.
