Ranchi, Dec.13: Former Hindustani Awami Morcha (HUM) spokesperson Danish Rizwan has come under the scanner of Jharkhand police in the incident of gun attack on Sushma Baraik near Sahajanand Chowk under Argora police station area in the Jharkhand capital.

Though S.P(rural) Naushad Alam, who presently holds additional charge of S.P (traffic) and S.P(city), parried reply in the matter saying ‘it will be too early to give any conclusive statement in the matter as the case is under investigation’, a police official cited reason for Rizwan being under the scanner of police.

“Sushma had registered a rape case against Rizwan and claims that Rizwan raped and impregnated her in semi conscious stage. She is also the mother of Rizwan’s son. Baraik registered a zero FIR in Ranchi and on the basis of the FIR an FIR was registered at the Secretariat police station in Patna. Thus there is every possibility of Rizwan getting involved in the incident,” the police official said.

Another police official supported the fact but said other than Rizwan, police is scanning the role of others also against whom Baraik had registered a rape case. The list includes close relatives of former IPS officer P.S.Natrajan also as Natrajan was the first against whom Baraik had registered a case of sexual exploitation and after 12 years of legal battle the court exonerated Natrajan of the charge.

A vendor near the crime spot said the sound of firing was so low that he could not hear it and realized the attack when noticed people running towards the spot in the morning hour to rescue the lady lying in a pool of blood in the morning.

Officer-in-charge of Argora police station Vinod Kumar did not comment on the matter saying ‘the culprit will be arrested soon as the probe is going on  properly and help of CCTV footage is also being taken to identify the assailants.’
