Ranchi, Dec.13: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), which probes the case of money laundering, issued a second summons to Dy SP Pramod Kumar Mishra, posted in Sahibganj.
The ED issued a summons today and asked the Dy SP to turn up on December 15 at its Zonal Office at Hinoo in the Jharkhand capital. Earlier, the probe agency had summoned the Dy SP on December 6 directing him to turn up on December 12.
Sources close to the ED said if the Dy SP does not respond to the second summons he will have to pay heavy price for the same.
“Second summons has been issued after the DySP did not turn up on December 12. If he does not turn up again, he will have to face trouble,” sources close to the ED said.
The development took place after the Jharkhand government filed an SLP before the Supreme Court challenging the jurisdiction of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to review or monitor the investigation of a case being investigated by the state police on the same day when Dy SP Mishra was supposed to appear before the ED.
Dy SP Mishra is under scanner of the ED as there is evidence indicating that he has hand in gloves with those involved in laundering of money.
Businessman Shambhu Nandan had lodged an FIR in the Barharwa toll plaza case. Within 24 hours of the FIR, the Sahibganj police gave a clean chit to minister Alamgir Alam and Pankaj Mishra. DSP Pramod Mishra (PK Mishra), who was supervising the investigation, had given a clean chit to Pankaj Mishra without any preliminary investigation and examining the digital evidence.
Pramod Mishra was posted as DSP of Barharwa, and his name also figured in the ASI Roopa Tirkey death case. Earlier, the investigating officer and ASI of Jharkhand Police, Sarfuddin Khan, was interrogated at Ranchi ED’s office. In this, Sarfuddin Khan said that the decision to close the investigation against Pankaj Mishra and Alamgir Alam was of his superiors.
