New Delhi, Dec 14: The security of 12 Special Cell personnel who are working to solve the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala has been enhanced to Y-category security, according to Delhi Police.

“The officials with increased security detail include Special CP HGS Dhaliwal, DCP Special Cell Manishi Chandra, DCP Rajeev Ranjan,” said the Delhi Police.

Officials increased security for ACP Lalit Negi, ACP Hriday Bhushan, ACP Ved Prakash, ACP Rahul Vikram, Inspectors Ravindra Joshi, Sunil Kumar, Vikram Dahiya, Nishant Dahiya, and Vinod Kumar.

Additionally, the safety of other police officers working to solve the murder case from May 29 has been improved. According to sources, each of them will always have a commando with them.

According to sources, the action was taken in response to a social media threat made by Lakhbir Landa, a close associate of the Punjabi mobster Harvinder Rinda.

The mobster asserted that he had pictures of every Special Cell officer engaged in cracking the case and warned against the police being spotted on the streets.

Additionally, Lakhbir Landa issued a warning that no Special Cell official should enter Punjab.

On May 29 of this year, unidentified assailants shot and killed Punjabi musician Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, also known as Sidhu Moose Wala, in Jawaharke Village in the Mansa District of Punjab. The incident took place two days after the Punjab Police removed the security coverage for 424 people, including Moose Wala.
