Dhanbad, Dec 14: Six teams of the Income Tax (IT) department of three states including Jharkhand, Bihar and Bengal on Wednesday morning raided and began a simultaneous assessment of three giants industries Lal Ferro Alloys Private Limited, Mongia Steel and Saluja Steel and Power Limited in Giridih.
The teams reached Giridih in over 30 cars at around 8 am and simultaneously began an investigation into the factory of Lal Ferro Alloys Private Limited and the residence of its owner Chetu Saw and his brother Gango Saw.
Two other teams stormed into the Mongia Steel Limited factory and residence of its chairman Gunwant Singh Mongia.
Two other teams also raided Saluja Steel and Power Limited and the residence of its owner Namarjit Singh Saluja to assess documents.
The officials refused to share their identity with media persons but sources said that senior official Pradip Dungdung is leading the assessment and officers of the above-mentioned three states are involved in it.
Within a fortnight, this is the second time when the I-T department is conducting an assessment of industries in Giridih.
