Ranchi, Dec.22: The Jharkhand High Court today directed the state government to regularize services of contract employees working for more than 10 years.

The direction came from the bench of Justice S.N.Pathak while hearing a petition in the matter.

The court apart from giving direction of service regulation also directed the government to ensure that all future appointments be done on regular posts.  The court observed that the majority of contract workers are computer operators.

The development took place in the wake of Supreme Court direction given in a Narendra Tiwari’s petition.

Tiwari is a transport department employee. He had knocked the door of the Supreme Court after the Jharkhand High Court rejected his service regularization plea in 2017. The Supreme Court directed to consider his case.  After which the hearing was held again in the matter in the high court.
