Hazaribag court awards 2-year jail term to ex-Congress MLA

Hazaribag, Jan 4: Former MLA of Ramgarh, Mamta Devi today was awarded a two-year sentence in the fourth and the last case related to firing at the gate of the inland power plant in Gola of Ramgarh. 

Notably, Mamta got a four-year sentence in December due to which she lost her membership in the Jharkhand assembly. 

Today, an MP MLA court awarded her two years of imprisonment and all sentence will run concurrently. 

A lawyer said the fourth case numbered 65/2016 related to the setting ablaze of the official vehicles of LRDC and CO who reached the spot after getting information about violence by protestors.
