Ranchi, Jan 29: DPS Ranchi on Sunday concluded its two-day ‘Terra Laureate’- an Inter School Mega event at its school campus. The school began the event on January 28 with the aim of honing the talents of young scholars. Over 400 students from 18 schools in the city participated in the competition.
Schools that participated in the event include JVM Shyamli, DAV Bariatu, Vivekanand Vidya Mandir, Taurian World School, Bridgeford, Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Gurunanak Public School, Vidya Vikash Public School, Acharyakulam, Sharda Global School among others. The closing ceremony of the event was organised on Sunday, where Akhilesh Kumar Jha, IG (Human Rights), Jharkhand Police graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The event comprised eight different competitions including ‘Commercial Conference- Ad making’, Celeste Quadrivium- Quiz’, ‘Gourmet Gala- Open Kitchen’, ‘Let’s Talk Stocks- Stock Market Simulation’, ‘Model United Nation’, ‘Novice’s Gazette–Journal Making’, ‘Ave Scholarium – Debate’ and ‘Conclave of Diction – Declamation’. The winners of every competition received trophies and certificates.
The school which emerged with the maximum points was DPS Ranchi, however, the champions trophy was bagged by DAV Bariatu as it got the second highest points after DPS Ranchi. Notably, being the host school, DPS Ranchi was not vying for the Champions trophy award.
The Chief Guest of the event Akhilesh Kumar Jha appreciated all the participants and spoke about an unlimited potential in every individual that can be honed at every opportunity and at every stage.
Principal Dr Ram Singh congratulated the participants and wished them the best of luck for their future.
Notably, the overall event was organised by the students of DPS Ranchi itself as the school believes in instilling leadership qualities, organisational skills, team management and coordination skills in its students.
