Hazaribag, Feb 8: A wild elephant entered Hazaribag town in the wee hours of Wednesday killing two and injuring two. The two killed have been identified as Damodar saw and Dhaneshwar Sahu whereas the two injured are Rinki Devi and Khushboo Kumari.

The incident triggered panic in the area with a team of police and forest officials reaching the spot.

Local residents said the elephant reached the area and entered densely populated Kumhartoli. It caught a 24-year-old woman Rinki Kumari from its trunk and threw her.

She was left with multiple fractures and was rushed to the hospital. Returning towards Mailatand in the Khirgaon area, the elephant killed  Damaodar Saw who was working in the field.

Meanwhile, a team of police and the forest department tried to locate the animal by using drone cameras. A large number of people gathered on the spot to get a glimpse of the animal.
