Ranchi: Jharkhand’s Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh has alleged that the Election Commission is complicit in an organised “vote-theft game” being run across the country, claiming that what Rahul Gandhi had long been saying is now being proven true.
Minister Questions Why Truth Was “Hidden” from Voters
Reacting to a recent report revealing that internal objections were raised 14 times within the Election Commission over various decisions, Singh said the disclosure raises serious questions about the role of the central government and the Commission, asking why the truth was being kept from the country’s voters when such objections had come from within the Commission itself.
Calls It a “Betrayal” of the Constitution and Democracy
She said vote theft is not merely an electoral scam but a serious betrayal of the Constitution and democracy, pointing to the 14 objections raised over 10 months concerning voter registration, deletion and addition of names, and the centralisation of the electoral roll database — all of which, she said, are now under a cloud of suspicion.
“Not Just an Administrative Dispute,” Says Minister
Singh argued that when such serious objections are being raised within the Election Commission itself over the voter list and its control, it cannot be dismissed as a mere administrative disagreement — calling it instead a serious assault on democracy. She said that if questions are being raised about the integrity of the electoral system under the Modi government and CEC Gyanesh Kumar, the country will not remain silent.
