The second batch of 12 cheetahs from South Africa landed at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday after a 10-hour flight from Johannesburg. The cheetahs were airlifted in Indian Air Force’s Mi-17 helicopters.
In September 2022, eight cheetahs flew to India from Namibia.
Notably, cheetahs are being brought to India as part of the Cheetah Reintroduction Project under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the South African and the Indian governments.
