Dhanbad: Tata Steel Jharia Division sets up Art Transporting Parks

Dhanbad, Feb 22: For enhancing and ensuring safety during road transportation of by-products and coal, two Transportation Parks were inaugurated at Bhelatand of Tata Steel Jharia Division on Thursday 

The Tata Steel Jharia Division official said that one park is dedicated to the trucks plying for industrial by-products, whereas the other one is for transporting coal to the Bhelatand Coal Preparation Plant (BCPP).

 DB Sundara Ramam, vice president of raw materials, Tata Steel and Rajiv Mangal, vice President of safety health and sustainability (designate) inaugurated Both parks.

 The official said both the parks, first of its kind in the region, are laced with special features like separate parking slots, concrete stoppers and roll-back arrestors, a dedicated pathway for the safe movement of drivers, eliminating man-machine interface, amenities like restroom and washroom for drivers.  CCTV surveillance, access control through suitable gates, drop gates and signal lights, and adequate illumination for night-time operation.

 Apart from the above-mentioned features, the IBMD transportation park has a command centre to enable monitoring of the trucks in the parking area and a dedicated training room to impart training to the drivers.

 Sundara Ramam and Rajiv Mangal congratulated all involved in this achievement and said that bringing up such infrastructures with amenities will not only help in improving road safety but also keep the high motivation of our employees and workers, especially drivers.

The chief guests along with all the dignitaries wished to accomplish more such milestones in the future to further enhance road safety and provide a safe and healthy work environment for all.
