Ranchi, Feb.28: As many as 73 percent of the Jharkhandi youth are in favour of implementing pre-2016 recruitment policy with immediate effect.
Under the policy, 60 percent was reserved for SC, ST, OBC and EWS while 40 percent seats were open for all. Hindi is included in the list of languages.
A press release issued by the state government in the evening informed this saying the finding came after a survey by a Mini Ratna company of Government of India.
“A total of 7, 33,921 youths were contacted for suggestions. 73 percent youth of Jharkhand agreed to start the recruitment process on the basis of pre-2016 employment policy,” the release read.
The survey was conducted on the direction of chief minister Hemant Soren after the Jharkhand governor foiled the attempt of the state government to formulate a local policy in which only those who have done matriculation and intermediate from Jharkhand based schools were allowed to participate in the recruitment process.
In the policy, Hindi despite being a national language was not included in the list of languages to ensure that those who have knowledge of local language can qualify.
