Ramgarh, March 20: A Bhoomi Pujan Programme was organised on Sunday at the construction site in the Kaitha area under Ramgarh town after Akshaya Patra signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the district administration to facilitate the setting up of a centralised kitchen project to provide fresh and hot meals to about 50,000 children studying in government schools of Ramgarh district.
The programme was graced by Jayant Sinha, Hazaribagh MP Lok Sabha Constituency along with Ramgarh DC Madhavi Mishra, Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Kumar Sinha, CCL Darbhanga House, GM CSR Ladi Balakrishna and many others.
As per information, the centralised kitchen is likely to be set up in the district by CCL under CSR with a construction cost of Rs 15 crore and an operational cost of Rs 7 crore.
Jayant Sinha said the initiative will not only help the children studying in government schools to have access to fresh and nutritious food but will also help increase their interest in studies. Jayant Sinha praised CCL, Akshaya Patra Sanstha and the district administration for this work.
Meanwhile, Ramgarh DC Madhavi Mishra emphasised the importance of the mid-day meal scheme and its benefits for children. On the occasion, she appreciated the work done by MP, CCL, and the Akshay Patra Foundation for their cooperation in introducing the concept of the centralised kitchen. Once the construction work is completed, the centralised kitchen can work for the children.
During the programme, Vyompad Das, Regional President of Akshaya Patra Foundation provided detailed information regarding the objectives of Akshaya Patra Foundation and the work being done by the foundation in the field of education. Everyone was informed about the benefits and importance of the children through the centralised kitchen.
