Ranchi, Mar 26: Dr Shekhar Choudhary Kajal elected new president of Ranchi chapter of Indian Medical Association (IMA) for 2023-25 sessions.
In the straight contest for the president post held at Ranchi IMA building Dr Shekhar Choudhar Kajal defeated outgoing president Dr Shambhu Prasad Singh by 163 votes
IMA Ranchi senior doctor cum chief election officer Dr Hullimudin said that total 773 voters participated in the election in which Dr Shekhar Choudhari Kajal got 468 votes while his rival Dr Shambu Prasad Singh got 305 votes.
Dr Shekhar Choudhary Kajal, who was state IMA secretary in 2011 to 2013, had entered in the election field after long time with new vision sand hard stand on Medical Protection Act and Clinical Establishment Act.
“ Election was democratic process in which victory and defeat doze not matter. We all doctors belong to same family. I thanks all doctors of Ranchi and want their welfare who voted me and who did not”, said Dr Kajal.
Newly elected president said members have voted for changed. He would try to encourage young doctors to play active part in IMA for welfare of medicos and new though in organization.
“ My immediate priority would be to bridge present communication gap between doctors and public”, he said.
