Chatra, March 27: Within 72 hours, a police team led by Tandwa sub-divisional police officer Shambhu Kumar Singh solved the sensational murder case of an employee of Central Coalfields Limited(CCL) Sanjay Kumar who was posted in the Amrapali project. The police arrested two killers besides a woman named Purnima Devi who was having an affair with Kumar.
Sanjay’s body had been found on a railway track in Godwar village on Friday morning. His murder sparked anger in the area with the demand to arrest the killers.
Seeing the seriousness of this case, Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan formed a team led by Singh to solve this blind murder case. Police came to know that Kumar was murdered somewhere else and the body dumped at another place. Due to passing trains, the body got mutilated. A forensic team was summoned as well as a technical cell pressed into service to collect evidence from the spot.
Singh confirmed solving this case and said Purnima with whom Kumar was having affair connived with people who planned this murder. Purnima called Kumar at her home on Thursday evening where 15 people abducted and strangled him. “We are carrying out raids to nab other killers who are still at large,” added Singh.
