Ranchi, April 10: The BJP, which was hardly noticed exposing the failures of the Hemant Soren government in an effective manner, is all set to mark its strong presence as a strong opposition capable of throwing this government out of power.
If statement of party state president Deepak Prakash is anything to go by, around one lakh party workers are reaching here to lay siege to Project Bhawan secretariat in Dhurwa and give the State government a message that the BJP is not going to behave like a ‘mute spectator’ to the government’s wrong policies.
The party workers through the agitation want to expose how the state fooled people in the name of local policy and recruitment policy and allowed loot of mines and minerals giving the ED and other central probe agencies to make their base in the state to tighten its noose around the influential corrupt bureaucrats and leaders.
The party workers will start assembling at Prabhat Tara Maidan in Dhurwa and finally leave the venue at 11.30am to reach the secretariat via DAV School and Golchakkar.
An insider said apart from targeting the state government, the programme is also intended to check the preparedness of the party to contest forthcoming parliamentary and assembly elections at the time when the BJP is in the line of fire of all those who are not happy with Prime Minister Modi’s style of development and tough stand against corruption and anti-national forces.
Meanwhile, in the wake of the BJP’s agitation plan, the Ranchi police today did all necessary security arrangements. The plan was finalized to prevent BJP leaders and workers from all over the state from going towards the secretariat.
Barricading has been done at various square intersections of the city, to take stock of which DIG Anoop Birthare, DC Rahul Sinha and SSP Kishore Kaushal and other senior officers inspected various barricading on Monday.
DC Sinha said that all arrangements have been made to ensure that there should be no traffic hindrance. SSP Kaushal said that in view of the demonstration, additional security forces are being deployed.
He said that the entire effort of the police-administration is to stop the BJP supporters gathered from all over the state. For this, he said, 500 additional soldiers will be deployed around the ground. To ensure that common people do not suffer, apart from 20 inspectors and 250 sub inspectors, 1500 additional jawans will be deployed in the city.
From the point of view of security, special attention is being paid to the CM residence and Project Building. At the same time, additional police personnel have been deployed near Raj Bhavan as well. As a precaution, police personnel will be deployed at other places including Albert Ekka Chowk and Argoda Chowk.
