Hazaribagh, April.24: In the early morning of Monday, a bus carrying tourists from Bengal lost control and overturned near Kariyatpur in Barhi on GT road injuring 26 passengers. Somehow all the injured passengers were taken out of the bus with the help of the villagers. All the injured passengers were brought to Barhi sub-divisional hospital for treatment, where first aid was done. Out of 26, two passengers were referred to another hospital for better treatment.
There was complete chaos in the hospital as the patients were brought here.
Sources said 56 passengers were on the said bus, who were going on a religious tour from their homes in the North 24 Pargana district of Bengal. The bus was on the way to a few religious destinations including Prayagraj, Vrindavan, Mathura and others when it met an accident in Kariyatpur. It is still not clear how the bus overturned.
Barhi police officials said passengers told them the reasons for the accident, out of which one is the napping of the driver and the other is steering failure. We are probing the case and searching for the driver and cleaner who escaped from the spot, added they.
