Ramgarh: The Electricity Department is adopting many tricks to collect the bills. The department has decided to give a 100 per cent exemption in the surcharge amount, giving great relief to the arrear of farmers and domestic electricity consumers, besides motivating them to deposit their electricity bills.
Along with this, the consumers paying the electricity bill regularly will also be honoured. The above decision was taken in a meeting held on Wednesday at the JSEB’s Huppu substation in Gola.
Assistant Electrical Engineer Tulsi Das Mahto, present in the meeting, said that the department has adopted a new method to deposit the bills on time. In which it has been decided to honour the consumers who deposit electricity bills regularly so that by respecting the consumers who deposit their electricity bills on time, this message will go to other consumers that they should also deposit their electricity bills on time.
He said that till December 31, 2023, under the one-time settlement scheme, the amount of interest will be waived off to those who deposit the outstanding bills. Consumers can avail the benefit of this scheme till June 30, 2023, while consumers who are unable to deposit in one lump sum have been given the facility to deposit outstanding bills in five instalments.
