Dhanbad, May 15: Five candidates filed nominations for different posts on the first day of filing nominations of the Dhanbad Bar Association today.
State Bar Council appointed election officers advocate Devisharan Sinha and Arun Kumar Tiwary said that on the first day, five candidates, Shivkumar Prasad Singh alias Prabhat Singh ( for the post of treasurer), Parmeswar Prasad Bari ( assistant treasurer), Sandeep Kaushal, Abhijit Kumar Sadhu, and Lalan Gupta ( executive member) filed nomination.
The election of the Dhanbad district Bar Association is scheduled on June 8 and the result would be declared on the next day. The election is being held for 16 posts.
A triangular contest is appearing for the post of president in the poll as besides the outgoing president advocate Amrendra Sahay, former president and state council chairman Radheyshyam Goswamy and senior lawyer Harish Kumar Joshi have put up their hat in the ring. Twenty-five years of experience is mandatory for the candidate for the presidential post.
Election officer Devisharan Sinha said besides the five candidates who filed nominations today, 34 other advocates purchased nomination papers for different posts today.
