New Delhi, May 16: Delhi police confirmed today that the email threat sent to Amrita School in Pushp Vihar, in the capital, on Tuesday was a hoax and that no suspicious items were discovered there.

Sub-Inspector of the Delhi Police Bomb Squad Suresh Yadav said, “The school premises have been thoroughly searched and no suspicious object has been found.”

“A thorough checking of the school has been conducted by the Bomb Disposal Team (BDT) but nothing has been found,” Deputy Commissioner of Police South Chandan Choudhary said.

After authorities learned that the Amrita School had received a bomb threat via e-mail this morning, several teams of police officers and the bomb squad were dispatched to the location.

As searches were being done, students were evacuated from the school premises.

According to the Delhi Police, a probe is in progress.
