New Delhi, May 16: The UTSAH (Undertaking Transformative Strategies and Actions in Higher Education) and POP (Professor of Practise Portal) websites, as well as the new UGC website, were all unveiled on Tuesday by Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

According to UGC, the revamped UGC website was unveiled as a part of transformative plans and initiatives for higher education. The revamped website intends to give students, teachers, and other stakeholders in the higher education ecosystem a more user-friendly experience.

“The UGC website will also serve as a one-stop shop for all higher education-related information. It will provide comprehensive information on scholarships, fellowships, grants, and other opportunities available to students, faculty, and researchers. The website will also feature news updates, circulars, and notifications from UGC,” Chairman Kumar said.

Prof. Kumar stated during the opening event that the portals’ introduction is an important milestone towards the digital transformation of higher education in India.

“These portals will enable us to provide better support to our students, faculty members, and other stakeholders and promote collaboration and innovation in higher education,” he said.

He also exhorted the stakeholders to offer their opinions and ideas for development.

Now live and usable, the UGC website, UTSAH portal, and POP portal can be reached via www.ugc.ac.in for the UGC website, https://utsah.ugc.ac.in for the UTSAH portal, and https://pop.ugc.ac.in for the POP portal.

Undertaking Transformative Strategies and Actions in Higher Education, or UTSAH, is an acronym representing the UGC’s initiatives for qualitative reforms in higher education. The UTSAH portal will serve as a comprehensive platform giving complete information about these activities.

Higher education institutions can use the portal as a platform to highlight their successes, share best practises, and collaborate with other universities. Additionally, it enables institutions to access different UGC programmes, keep tabs on their development, and submit reports online.

The UGC’s unique Professor of Practice Portal aims to close the knowledge gap between academia and industry. Through interactions with faculty members and students on this site, industry professionals will be able to share insightful information and practical knowledge.

The Portal is anticipated to add fresh viewpoints and expertise to the academic sphere while assisting students in developing practical knowledge and skills that are applicable to the industry.

The UGC believes that this approach will assist Indian universities in focusing more on industry and generating graduates who are better suited to satisfy the demands of the job market.
