Dhanbad, May 17: A total of 42 candidates today filed nominations for different posts in the Dhanbad Bar Association election scheduled to be held on June 8.
State Bar Council appointed election committee members advocates Devi Sharan Sinha and Arun Kumar Tiwary said that on the third day of filing nominations, a total of 42 aspirants of different posts, including outgoing president Amrendra Kumar Sahay and general secretary Jitendra Kumar submitted their nominations.
For the president post two candidates Amrendra Kumar Sahay and senior advocate Harish Joshi filed nomination while three candidates Ajay Kishore Narayan, Rajdeo Bharti and Dhaneswar Mahto filed for the post of vice president.
The Election officers said three candidates, including outgoing general secretary Jitendra Kumar, former general secretary Videsh Daa and Rajendra Gope put up hats in the race for the general secretary post.
Today only one candidate Deo Kumar Prasad filed a nomination for the post of treasurer and two contestants Dipak Kumar Sah and Mukund Mahto submitted nominations for the assistant treasurer post.

Three candidates including Gopalji Pandey, Gajendra Kumar and Amit Kumar Singh today also filed nominations for the post of joint secretary (administration) while three candidates, Nitu Rani, Kedarnath Mahto and Dilip Kumar Prasad filed nominations for the post of joint secretary (library).
Besides it, The election officers said 25 other candidates Md Zubair Alam, Randhir Kumar Srivastava, Arvind Kumar Sinha, Amit Kumar Modak, Dilip Kumar Yadav, Vibhash Kumar Mahto, Bharat Srivastava, Viswajit Mishra, Roshan Kumar Sab, Suresh PrasadYadav, Madhukar Sharma, Jagarnath Mahto, Sanjay Tiwary, Atish Kumar, Md Annuel Huque, Kishore Kumar, Mahendra Gope, Kamal Prasad Gupta, Pritam Kumar Verma, Dev Shankar Dev, Rohit Rahul Verma, Satyendra Kumar Ram, Rajan Pal, Anil Kumar Trivedi and Parmeswar Rao filed nomination for the executive members post.
Tomorrow (May 18) is the last date for filing a nomination.
