Daltonganj, June 1: Officials of the Nilamber Pitamber University, Daltonganj today gave a warm send-off to VC Ram Lakhan Singh and Pro-VC Deep Narayan Yadav today.
According to the registrar, Dr Rakesh Kumar, Pro VC Deep Narayan Yadav completed his three years term on May 31, while VC Ram Lakhan Singh completed his tenure today.
University sources said the two had a turbulent time for them and for the university as well during the Covid pandemic.
Till the time of filing of this report, it is not officially known as to what will be the alternative arrangement for the NPU here in the absence of the VC and the Pro VC.
The case of NPU Daltonganj is different from the Kolhan University Chaibasa where on the completion of the term of its VC and Pro VC the Governor’s secretariat notified Kolhan divisional commissioner as the stop-gap VC of the university.
Back here in Palamu, there is no divisional commissioner and hence there lies a great uncertainty as to who will lead this university in the absence of a regular VC and Pro VC from today onwards
Sources said it may take more than 2 weeks’ time to select, appoint and post VCs and Pro VCs in four state universities where these posts have either fallen vacant or going to be vacant this June month itself.
