Ranchi, June 12: Vande Bharat train reached Ranchi Railway Station Platform No. 2 today.
Today, a trial run of the train with state-of-the-art facilities started between Patna and Ranchi via Gaya and Barkakana. This train departed from Patna Junction at 06.55 a.m. and arrived in Gaya at 08.20 a.m. It left Gaya at 08.30 a.m. and arrived in Ranchi at 12.40pm though it was scheduled to reach at 1pm.
This train will leave Ranchi at 2.20 p.m. and arrive in Gaya at 7 p.m. on its return journey from Ranchi to Patna. The train will leave Gaya at 7.10 p.m. and arrive in Patna at 8.25 p.m.
This Vande Bharat trial run is being done solely for operational and experimental purposes for safety and allied checks prior to regular operations. During the train’s trial run, general passengers were not permitted to board. Union minister Jayant Sinha was noticed in the train.
It was operated via Jehanabad, Gaya, Barkakana, Koderma, Hazaribagh Town and Mesra. During the trial run, this train was operated at high speed. Railway administration had already made arrangements to ensure that common people should maintain a proper distance from the railway track as well as cattle do not come on the railway track.
Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth through a tweet expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav for this achievement.
“The long running wait is about to end. The trial run of the Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express has started today. This train will reach Ranchi by afternoon. Then very soon its operation will also start. Thanks to PM Mr.@narendramodi ji and railway minister mr @AshwiniVaishnaw for it,” Seth tweeted.
