BIT Sindri:  Faculty development programme on entrepreneurship concludes

Dhanbad, July 15: Two-week long faculty development programme (FDP) on entrepreneurship  organized by  BIT Sindri’s Innovation and Incubation Centre (IIC) concluded on Saturday today.

The main objective of FDP was to bring together industry personnel, entrepreneurs and faculty members to share their knowledge in the areas of Startups, incubation, business model canvas, market validation, customer discovery, finance, sales, customer care, negotiation, and intellectual property rights.

The organizer said the BIT Sindri Alumni Association of North America (BITSANA) had sponsored the event.

Dr. Chris Pal Singh, CEO, Holtec International, USA, Ramesh Yadav, entrepreneur, USA, Prof. Raj Jaswa, adjunct professor, IIT Bombay and serial entrepreneur, Silicon Valley, USA, Prof. (Dr.) Nishant Tikekar, IIT Bombay entrepreneur, Dr. Amarnedu Prakash, president, SAIL, New Delhi; Suresh Roy, entrepreneur, USA; Rahul Biswari, Sr. director-HR at Chevy (Ex-HP, KPMG, USA); Ms. Rashmi Kumar, SVP and CIO, Medtronics, USA, Dr. Shailendra Suman, Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, USA, Dr. Santosh Anshumali, IIT Bombay Entrepreneur, Raj Dubey, Dubey & Partners Law Firm, USA, Ajit Kumar Jha, ED, Civil Engineering, Railway Board, New Delhi, Rohit Arora Entrepreneur, USA were key note speakers during the two-week long programme.

On the final day, guest speaker Dr. Amarnedu Prakash shed light on the topic of startups and entrepreneurial leadership qualities, while host speakers, Dr. Ramesh Yadav and Prof Raj Jaswa discussed startups, business model canvas, and customer discovery.

Prof Prakash Kumar, who is also the organiser of the programme and professor in charge of the Start-up and Incubation Centre, proposed votes of thanks.

The patron of the event, Dr. D.K. Singh  thanked the experts and urged all the participants to strengthen the startup ecosystem.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Om Prakash, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Murli Manohar, Department of Electrical Engineering; and Miss Meenakshi Chowdhary, Department of Humanities. Miss Meenakshi  proposed the vote of thanks.
