New Delhi, July 16: The Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), led by former Uttar Pradesh minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, on Sunday, joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The announcement was made after Rajbhar met senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the capital Delhi.
Shah tweeted and welcomed him to the NDA family. The Home Minister said that with the arrival of Rajbhar, the NDA will be strengthened in Uttar Pradesh and the efforts being made by the coalition under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden will be further strengthened.

Rajbhar had fought the last assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh in alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP), but after not getting the expected success, he parted ways with the SP. He had supported NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election last year. Rajbhar’s party fought the 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in alliance with the BJP. Rajbhar was made a cabinet minister when the government was formed, but later broke ties with the coalition.
