New Delhi: The Supreme Court has fixed October 5 as the next date of hearing in the case seeking a CBI investigation into the JPSC-JSSC recruitment scam, after the matter was adjourned on Monday due to a request for time and pending responses from respondents.
Hearing Postponed Amid Counsel’s Absence and Pending Replies
A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohana began hearing the petitions filed by Harisharan and Manish Kumar on Monday. As proceedings opened, Manish Kumar’s side sought time citing the absence of their senior counsel, while Harisharan’s side pointed out that despite notices having been issued on the petition, none of the respondents had yet filed an affidavit in response. Following these submissions, the court fixed the next hearing date.
Two Separate Petitions Before the Court
Harisharan Devgan has filed a public interest litigation before the Supreme Court seeking a CBI probe into the JPSC-JSSC recruitment scam, while Manish Kumar has filed a separate criminal writ petition naming the same respondents as those named in Harisharan Devgan’s plea.
