FIR against 3 for siphoning off Rs 31 lakh land compensation for Ranchi airport expansion

Ranchi, July 17: Irregularities in distribution of compensation against land acquired for expansion of Birsa Munda Airport have come to light.

Land acquisition officer (LAO) Anjana Das has exposed the irregularities during review of a case (06/2008-09) and has knocked the door of Kotwali police station for proper legal action in the matter.

Das parried reply in this connection saying she was ‘not authorised’ before asking for the ‘source of information’, a source at the police station shared details saying three persons have duped over Rs 31 lakh from the district administration and an FIR under sections 406, 409, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of IPC was registered on July 15 in this connection.

“The compensation has been collected from the concerned office fraudulently in lieu of the land of Mauza-Hethu, Khata No-13, Plot No-168, Rakba – 0.63 acres,” the police source said.

According to the LAO, the police source said, Raj Kumar Srivastava (father-Ganesh Lal Srivastava, resident of Shiv Durga Mandir Lane, Ratu Road, Ranchi) has taken a compensation of Rs. 2.54 lakh. Similarly, Ravindra Kumar (father – Sudama Vishwakarma, resident of Hehal Bank Colony, Vikas Nagar, Police Station-Sukhdev Nagar, Ranchi) in lieu of 0.18 acres of plot no. 813 took compensation of Rs.15.82 lakh.  Apart from this, Mukesh Kumar Sinha (father- Lakhan Lal Sinha, resident of New Kishoreganj, Police Station- Sukhdev Nagar, Ranchi) has taken Rs. 14.32 lakh.

The compensation was paid on August 13 and September 5 in 2011.
