Chamoli, July 19: In the Chamoli region of Uttarakhand, a transformer explosion on the banks of the Alaknanda River resulted in at least fifteen deaths and several injuries, according to officials.
A Pipalkoti outpost in charge was among the persons killed, according to Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar.
Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, V Murugesan said, “Around 15 people including a police sub-inspector & five home guards have died. Investigation is underway. Prima Facie reveals that there was current on the railing and the investigation will reveal the further details.”
The injured individuals, according to the police officer, have been admitted to the district hospital.
