Chatra, July 21: A clash between two groups in Parsauni village under the Itkhori police station area which has taken a communal colour made the district administration to take several decisions one-after-another on Thursday late night right from activating a control room to deputing jawans and magistrates in the village.
Deputy Commissioner Abu Imran and Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan joined an online meeting with senior officials in Itkhori block last night to review the security of the area to avoid any further clash.
Sources said two communities are fighting for a football ground for years which shares its border with a graveyard. This is the reason why two groups locked in a clash on Tuesday evening on this issue. The matter took an ugly turn when both sides locked in a clash resulting in injuries to a dozen people.
With tension still prevailing, the district administration took various steps to keep the situation under control. Imran and Ranjan instructed Subdivisional Officer Mumtaz Ansari and Subdivisonal police officer Avinash Kumar to take strict action against the troublemakers. In an online meeting late Thursday night, the duo asked them to identify those who were behind Tuesday’s evening clash, arrest the culprits and attach the properties of those who are evading arrest.
Even a control room was activated 24X7 to collect all information regarding the troubled area. Further, monitoring of social media is also going on to ensure no objectionable posts are there. Local residents were told to contact senior administrative and police officials in case of any objectionable stuff they see on social media.
Meanwhile, the police have registered two different FIRs against 44 and have arrested five so far. The police patrolling is taking place at frequent intervals to keep the situation under control.
