Ranchi, July 25: The ruling JMM today expressed its concern over the governor’s statement to a particular news agency on the issue of Bangladeshi intrusion in Jharkhand without any specific data.

Party’s senior leader Supriyo Bhattacharya shared the concern with media at the party’s office in Harmu saying how come the Jharkhand government is responsible for intrusion when protection of Indian borders is the responsibility of the union government.

Notably, Governor C.P.Radhakrishnan was reported to have said that due to Bangladeshi intrusion followed by intruders’ matrimonial relationship with local tribea demography of Santhal Pargana is changing.

Taking note of this, Bhattacharya said that the governor is expected not only to ‘know the demographic change’ but also ‘know the topology of the state.’ “No international border touches any part of Jharkhand,” Bhattacharya added.

The JMM leader while expressing his concern over the governor’s statement to a select media said the Raj Bhawan is not expected to set political narrative and behave like a guardian. He said the governor should not give any statement without verification of facts and restrain him from giving statements on the basis of information furnished by the BJP leaders including Babulal Marandi, Anant Ojha and others.

JMM leader Bhattacharya said when the matter was raised in the assembly, the government had instructed the administration of all districts to ensure that no foreigner resides in their district without proper permission.

Bhattacharya, on the occasion, also expressed his concern over prime minister Narendra Modi comparing I-N-D-I-A, an alliance of all nationalist democratic parties, with Indian Mujahideen and East India Company saying how the union government earlier used India to float many schemes including India Shining, Khelo India, Digital India and others.
